Born: London 1952
Apprenticeship from 1967 with C.F. Barnes & Co.
Set up his own workshop in Clapham London 1982, moving to
present workshop in Yoxford.
2005 Winner of Jacques Cartier "Craftsman of the Year" Award 1971.
Awarded Freedom of the Goldsmith's Company 1978.
Awarded Freedom of the city of London 1978.
Winner of various Goldsmith's Arts Council prizes for enamelling,
also Designer finished pieces 1995, 2007.
Has shown work with travelling exhibitions with the
Goldsmith's company, in Boston, San Francisco and Frankfurt.
Also shown work with various exhibitions with British Society of
Enamellers, of which he is a member, and past Chairman.
Member of the Suffolk Craft Society.
Work as part of a permanent collection at the Musee De L,Horlogerie
et De L, Email, Geneve.
Phil has been a visiting lecturer on Enamelling for many years,
teaching at such places as:
Sir John Cass school of Art and Design,
Royal College,
UCE Birmingham,
and various master classes throughout this country and abroad.
